We’re all very sure that you’ve encountered the soup-y menudo dish in one of your suking karinderyas. Yes, millenials, we’re talking about you guys. Well, it’s called Picadillo. We’ve all enjoyed drizzling the sauce over our rice, what we all thought was menudo.

Filipino-style Picadillo is minced beef cooked in tomatoes and potatoes. Something like giniling or menudo, but as we have said, it is soup-ier. Curious on how this dish works? Check the recipe below and confuse your friends with soup-y menudo!

Pork Picadillo Ingredients:

  • 1/2 kg ground pork
  • 4 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 4 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 potato, cubed
  • 1 carrot, cubed
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 3 tbsp fish sauce (patis)
  • 2 eggs

How To Cook Pork Picadillo:

  1. Saute garlic, onion, and tomatoes. Add pork and simmer until tender.
  2. Add carrots, potatoes, and fish sauce. Cook until tender.
  3. Add water and let it simmer.
  4. Add eggs and simmer until cooked.
  5. Serve.
